Rootstock Wine Bar prides itself in providing excellent quality food and wine

What is a Rootstock?

Rootstock is a plant, and sometimes just the stump, which already has an established, healthy root system used for grafting a cutting or budding from another plant. Rootstock is used in the growing of grape vines and is planted first in the establishment of the vineyard.

Who are we?

As residents of Los Gatos, born and raised, it has always been a dream to open a business in the beloved town we grew up in. Following in the footsteps of our McCarthy,Foley, and Fumia family ancestors who established family owned farming businesses in the first part of the last century, Gino, Jim, and Joey will use this opportunity to establish a “mom and pop” business that will support the local wineries and agricultural businesses.

What is Rootstock Wine bar all about?

The Santa Cruz Mountians offers a rich and often overlooked history of agriculture. Rootstock will celebrate local winemakers and grape growers by exposing customers to their world renowned wines. There is a natural synergy between local wine making industry and the town of Los Gatos which acts as the geographic gateway to Santa Cruz Mountian wineries.

Mission Statement

Rootstock Wine Bar celebrates the wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Santa Clara County while offering local organic cuisine in the form of enjoyable delectable small plates and antipasti. Rootstock offers wines at retail pricing and an eclectic selection of beers as well as winemaker events and private parties. While establishing a sense of community, Rootstock Wine Bar prides itself on combining quality wine with a casual and comfortable experience.
